Library Help: Office For Open Research

The Library manages institutional funds to support and enable Gold Open Access (OA) publication.  

The following OA funds are currently available for eligible research outputs: 

1. UKRI OA block grant (for papers acknowledging funding from AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, NERC, STFC or Innovate UK) [link to UKRI funding article] 

2. The Wellcome Trust OA block grant

3. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) OA block grant 

4. British Heart Foundation (BHF) OA block grant  [link to BHF funding article] 

5. University OA Fund

These funds are allocated to the University to enable researchers to publish articles Gold OA.

The Library does not manage OA funding for the following organisations: 

• NIHR

• ERC 

• Versus Arthritis

If you acknowledge funding from any of these organisations, you should liaise directly with your funder to explore your funding options.
