Open Access funds available for University of Manchester researchers

The Library manages institutional funds to support and enable Gold Open Access (OA) publication.  

The following OA funds are currently available for eligible research outputs: 

  1. UKRI OA block grant (for papers acknowledging funding from AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, NERC, STFC or Innovate UK) [link to UKRI funding article] 

  1. The Wellcome Trust OA block grant

  1. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) OA block grant

  1. British Heart Foundation (BHF) OA block grant  [link to BHF funding article] 

  1. University OA Fund

These funds are allocated to the University to enable researchers to publish articles Gold OA.

If you acknowledge funding from any of these organisations, you should liaise directly with your funder to explore your funding options.
