Open Access funds: ERC (European Research Council)

Answer

The Office for Open Research does not manage any ERC Open Access (OA) funds, and cannot support the payment of Article Processing Charges (APCs) for outputs in-scope of ERC’s Open Access policy.

APCs may be eligible costs that can be charged to ERC grants, provided they are incurred during the duration of the project and the specific eligibility conditions of the applicable Model Grant Agreement are fulfilled.

ERC-funded authors must archive their publication under a CC BY license, in a suitable repository, immediately on publication.

You can do this by depositing your paper to the University of Manchester’s institutional repository, Pure. This is known as Green Open Access.

You can find out more about how to satisfy your ERC OA requirements in the following articles:

Please make sure you are aware of all your funder’s requirements by visiting the funder's dedicated OA policy webpage.

If your ERC-funded paper is not in scope of ERC’s Open Access policy, you may be eligible for Open Access funding provided by The Office for Open Research for unfunded research articles
