Where do I find information on venture capital and private equity?
Refinitiv has information on worldwide private equity and venture capital investments, exits and fundraising. Search for the 'Screener' app and select the 'Private Equity/VC' universe, then filter by 'Deal Type'. (You may wish to change the output type from 'Report' to 'Volume Analysis'.) SDC Platinum contains a data set called 'VentureXpert' which holds venture capital information up to 2012. Performance data is aggregated but there are some other fields at firm-level.
In Capital IQ, use ‘Screening’, ‘Company screening’. Select ‘Investment Type > PE/VC’ under ‘Investment/Advisory Firms’. See our guide Introduction to Capital IQ for more details.
