Differences between legacy Capital IQ and Capital IQ Pro
On 18 August 2023, the default platform became Capital IQ Pro. It now contains all of the information and features of legacy Capital IQ, in addition to the SNL Financial data relating to banking, insurance and financial companies. In Capital IQ Pro, you have access to several sources of financials and RatingsDirect data.
You can still access the legacy Capital IQ platform from Capital IQ Pro, if you find that platform more familiar or easier to use. You do not have access to the SNL Financial data in legacy Capital IQ.
There is also an Excel version of Capital IQ Pro, available from the Eddie Davies Finance Zone, and in the Software Center for staff installations. The Excel add-in gives you additional historical data and templates.
Finally, we have additional subscriptions to selected Capital IQ data sets in WRDS.
