Library Help: Teaching and learning

We can now access data on quoted and private companies from all sectors in the S&P Capital IQ Pro platform (web and Excel), combining the legacy Capital IQ (all sectors) and Capital IQ Pro (was banking/finance only, formerly S&P Global Market Intelligence). When looking up company financial data in S&P Capital IQ Pro, you may need to choose from several sources, including:

• S&P Global Universal Data
• SNL Financial Fundamentals
• S&P Capital IQ Fundamentals
• Third Party - Private Company Data

Below is a summary of these sources and where you can use them.

S&P Global Universal Data

• S&P Global Universal Data allows you to get data for a chosen company, regardless of its type. 
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro website but only in the Screener app.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro Excel add-in.
• The data might actually come from any of the other sources.

SNL Financial Fundamentals

• SNL Financial Fundamentals allows you to get data for banking, insurance and financial companies. 
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro website on all pages and the Screener app.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro Excel add-in.
• This source is tailored for the banking, insurance and financial sector.

S&P Capital IQ Fundamentals

• S&P Capital IQ Fundamentals allows you to get data for quoted companies in any sector.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro website on all pages and the Screener app.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro Excel add-in.
• This source is not tailored for any sector. This is also available in legacy S&P Capital IQ.

Third Party - Private Company Data

• Third Party - Private Company Data  allows you to get data for private companies in any sector.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro website on all pages and the Screener app.
• It is available in the Capital IQ Pro Excel add-in.
• This source is not tailored for any sector. This is also available in legacy S&P Capital IQ.
