Where do I find information on banks and banking and financial services?


S&P Capital IQ Pro (formerly Global Market Intelligence) (formerly SNL Financial) provides financial accounts and analysis for banks and financial services worldwide. (Personal registration is required.) See our guide on downloading data in Capital IQ Pro.

Bank Regulatory via WRDS contains five databases for regulated depository financial institutions. These databases provide accounting data (from 1986) for bank holding companies, commercial banks, savings banks, and savings and loans institutions. FDIC/OTS dataset (1994-2002) contains financial data and history of all entities filing the Report of Condition and Income (Call Report) and some savings institutions filing the OTS Thrift Financial Report (TFR).

LSEG Refinitiv provides broker research and market sector research reports on banking and financial service industries worldwide. Search for the 'Advanced Research' function, then under 'Filters', in the 'Industry' box, browse for 'Banking Services'. See our guide for reports.

In Euromonitor Passport, click on ‘Industries’ in the main menu. Then select ‘Consumer Finance’, using the menu to set your search parameters.
