Request feedback on a data management plan (DMP)
Answer
The Office for Open Research Research Data Management (RDM) team offers a DMP review service:
-
to help researchers satisfy the University’s policy requirement that they must use DMPonline to write and maintain a data management plan (DMP) for every research study
-
to support funding applications, ethics applications, and postgraduate progression
-
to foster best practices in research data management
To request feedback on a fully completed DMP:
-
Login to DMPonline.
-
Select the relevant DMP from ‘My Dashboard’ (located near top of the screen).
-
Select the DMP’s ‘Request feedback’ tab.
-
Select the ‘Request feedback’ button (located near bottom of the screen).
The RDM team aims to return feedback comments within 10 working days. You will receive an email to inform you when the RDM team has finished providing feedback on your DMP. Any feedback will be found in the ‘Comments’ tabs, located on the right of the screen and adjacent to each DMP question.
Please note, the RDM team provides an advisory service rather than granting formal approval. Once we have provided feedback, you do not need to resubmit your DMP for a second review after you have made amendments. You can request a second review if you have queries, but there is no requirement for you to re-submit after the first review.
