Transparent methods: the Open Research Skills Framework
Answer
What are transparent research methods?
Applying openness to research methodologies invites collaboration and scrutiny, helping to achieve the goal of producing robust research findings.
The transparent reporting of methods and analyses facilitates attempts at reproduction and allows results to be efficiently shared and built upon. Through practices such as participatory research, our research is developed with partners outside the university, representing diverse perspectives.
Research practices which enable transparent methods
There are a number of Open Research practices which you can apply to increase the transparency of your methods:
-
Preregistration
-
Protocol sharing
-
Co-production
-
Community engagement
-
Transparent qualitative methods
