Where do I find info on insider holdings and insider trading?
- Search for the company you are interested in.
- In the horizontal menu, hover over 'Ownership' then click 'Insider Report'.
- The first tab is labelled 'Strategic Entities'. Click on an individual's name to see the acquisitions and dispositions.
Use Refinitiv Insiders Data via WRDS for North American companies only.
- Insiders Data via WRDS is available for AMBS Accounting and Finance researchers only. Contact the Teaching, Learning and Students team to request access.
Use Bloomberg for company holdings:
- Search for the company, then go to the ‘PHDC3’ function (type ‘PHDC3’ and press Enter).
Use Bloomberg for individual holdings:
- Search for the company, then go to the ‘Security Description’ function (type ‘DES’ and press Enter).
- Select ‘15) Management Holdings’.
- Click on the security then on the person. ‘Reported Holdings’ is a section on this screen.
Use Bloomberg for stocks that have experienced the most purchases and sales by insiders:
- Type ‘INSD’ and press Enter.
- Use the fields at the top of the screen to select country, time period, type of transaction.
- Click on a stock to display a graph of its historical prices with date of insider transactions.
- For further information, type ‘insider’ and press the green ‘F1 HELP’ key.
For US companies:
- Insider filings made to the U.S. SEC are available through its search interface EDGAR. Enter your company name or ticker symbol or CIK and, under ‘More Options’, tick ‘Include’ ownership forms. Insider transactions are available by issuer and reporting owner.
- Use Sec Form 4 for an independent service that studies historical and real-time insider trading.
