How do I find current betas for companies or industries?
Refinitiv has current betas for quoted companies around the world. Search for the company. On the horizontal menu, under 'Price & Charts', click on 'Price Performance'. Scroll down for beta values up to 5 years.
For quoted or private companies in the UK and Republic of Ireland, use Fame. For international companies, use Orbis. In the individual company report, under the heading ‘Stock data’, click ‘Beta and price volatility’.
Datastream has a beta datatype but often this is not what researchers are looking for when they are looking for ‘company betas’. The Datastream datatype ‘BETA’ is static – only the current value is available – and it also adjusts the raw beta value to make it a forecast beta.
Bloomberg has a ‘Beta’ function (type ‘BETA’ and press Enter).
