Where can I find transcripts of corporate conference calls?

Refinitiv Eikon covers transcripts of company events such as AGMs, earnings conference calls etc.

  1. Go to the Advanced Events Search app within Eikon.
  2. Change the 'Content Type' to 'Transcripts' and select other relevant search filters on the left (date, company, etc). Choose 'Event Type' to include items such as 'Earnings Conference Call'.
  3. Look out for the 'T' icons in the 'Transcript' column in the results.
  4. To batch save the transcripts from Eikon Web, Refinitiv says you have to install a small piece of Windows software called Batch Service. Note, we have not tested this yet and we don't know if there is a Mac version! We recommend using the Eikon Desktop software at the Finance Zone.
  5. You can download transcript files in PDF, Word or plain text formats.

Note: This question has also been answered by Harvard Business School, including Capital IQ, Factiva and Seeking Alpha.

S&P Capital IQ Transcripts are available via WRDS. Contains historical transcript data and trends on 10,600 companies, also latest corporate actions and trends from management discussions.

  • The interface is a little different to others in WRDS. You can provide a list of Capital IQ Company IDs to identify companies.
  • If you only have CUSIP or ISIN codes, you can create a Watch List in the regular Capital IQ platform then use this in a Company Screener to add the 'Excel Company ID' display column. You then have to strip out the 'IQ' prefix for each company ID, and transform them until they are in the format of a single line, separated by commas. We can help you do to this in Excel and Notepad++.
  • The output format is a zip archive of JSON files. You can open these in Chrome with a suitable extension such as JSON Viewer (make sure to enable the permission to 'Allow access to file URLs'. You might prefer to process them with Python.
