How do I open EndNote Desktop on Mac? I have a blank screen
Have you tried looking in the top left of the screen to see if the EndNote menu appears? (near the Apple logo)
In Microsoft Windows, when you start the programme, a window pops up asking you to open or create a library. The behaviour is different on macOS; EndNote opens very quickly and then disappears but is still active in the background.
Steps to create a new library or open an existing library with EndNote Desktop on macOS:
- Open EndNote as usual (double-click the app icon).
- Select 'File' from the top left hand side menu, next to 'EndNote 20 or 21'.
- If you have used EndNote before, click 'Open Library' to open an existing library.
- Otherwise, click 'New...' to create a new library.
