Accessing the Financial Times

Content from the Financial Times newspaper is available via a number of the Library databases.

More recent content is available from a variety of different providers. Please be aware that the content is subject to a one month embargo period so you will need to keep this in mind when trying to access recent content. All of the databases below work slightly differently so you may need to experiment with them to determine which is the best option for your needs.

  • 1981 - onwards:  Factiva
(There is a guide available on how to use the database here - For Step 5 you would need to use the "Source" option, as opposed to the options presented in the guide. type "Financial Times" and select the academic option - You will then be able to search for content published in the newspaper).

  • 1996 onwards: Proquest - ABI Inform
(Select the link to ProQuest ABI Inform Global from the link above)

  • 1999 onwards: Gale - Academic One File
(Select the link to Gale Academic One File from the link above)

Students of the Alliance Manchester Business School can access content from the Financial Times via Blackboard. Please speak to your tutor if you are unable to do so.
