How do I import references from Google Scholar into EndNote online?


Before you carry out a search you need to change the Google Scholar settings by following these instructions.

  1. Click on 'Settings' in the menu bar.
  2. Scroll down to the 'Bibliography Manager' option.
  3. Click on 'Show links to import citations into' and change the drop-down option to ‘EndNote’.
  4. Click 'Save'.
  5. Carry out a search on Google Scholar.
  6. Click on the 'Import into EndNote' for an article you are interested in.
  7. Save the file to your desktop.
  1. Open up EndNote online and sign in.
  2. Click 'Collect' and then 'Import References'.
  3. Browse for the file you downloaded to your desktop from Google Scholar.
  4. The Import option should be 'EndNote Import' or 'Google Scholar'.
  5. Choose the folder you want the reference to be stored in and click 'Import'.
