How do I import references from Google Scholar into EndNote online?
Before you carry out a search you need to change the Google Scholar settings by following these instructions.
In Google Scholar:
- Click on 'Settings' in the menu bar.
- Scroll down to the 'Bibliography Manager' option.
- Click on 'Show links to import citations into' and change the drop-down option to ‘EndNote’.
- Click 'Save'.
- Carry out a search on Google Scholar.
- Click on the 'Import into EndNote' for an article you are interested in.
- Save the file to your desktop.
In EndNote online:
- Open up EndNote online and sign in.
- Click 'Collect' and then 'Import References'.
- Browse for the file you downloaded to your desktop from Google Scholar.
- The Import option should be 'EndNote Import' or 'Google Scholar'.
- Choose the folder you want the reference to be stored in and click 'Import'.
