How do I transfer references from EndNote online to EndNote desktop?


To transfer references from EndNote online to EndNote desktop:

  1. In EndNote online, select the 'Format' tab and choose 'Export References'
  2. Select the group (folder) of references you wish to export
  3. Choose 'Export Style: EndNote Export'
  4. Click 'Save' and save the file as a .txt file
  5. In EndNote desktop, select 'File' > 'Import' > 'File…' and select the .txt file you have downloaded
  6. Choose 'Import Option: EndNote Import'
  7. Click 'Import' to add the references to your EndNote desktop library.
