How do I download output styles for EndNote desktop?


You can find and download new or updated styles from the EndNote website at: http://endnote.com/downloads/styles

Manchester University related styles can be downloaded from: https://subjects.library.manchester.ac.uk/referencing

These can be saved to your styles folder if you are using your own copy of EndNote on your own computer, or to a location (e.g. your P:\ drive) if you are working on the University network.

Download this style into your styles folder within the EndNote programme folder:

  • Windows (default): C:\Program Files (x86)\EndNote 20\Styles

  • Macintosh (default): Macintosh HD>Applications>EndNote 20>Styles

For Harvard Manchester style:

You can add the style to your EndNote Style list using this method: 

  • Have your EndNote (app) programme open
  • Download the Harvard Manchester style from the Referencing Guide.
  • Open the downloaded style by double clicking on it
  • Check the version in the section About this Style
  • To save select File > Save As and choose the style name
  • Select Save
  • It will now be added to your list of available styles for you to select
