How do I use EndNote to search for full-text articles in my library?

You can use EndNote to find the full-text articles for references in your EndNote library. To do this, you need to set EndNote up to connect to our e-journal subscriptions.

To set up EndNote desktop (if not already done):

  1. In EndNote, go to: 'Edit' > 'Preferences' > 'Find Full Text'.
  2. In the 'Open URL' section enter: http://man-fe.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/44MAN/44MAN_services_page
  3. In the 'Authenticate with:' section enter: https://login.manchester.ac.uk/cas/login?url=
  4. You can then log in using your central username and password.

EndNote preferences find full text

Once set-up, you can then look for full-text articles by following these steps:

  1. Select the references that you wish to search for the full-text for, or click 'Ctrl+A' to select them all.
  2. Click on the 'Find full-text' icon (represented by an Adobe symbol) on the top menu bar.
  3. EndNote will now look for these and automatically attach any that are available and can be found.

If you already have the full-text or can find them elsewhere, you can attach them to individual references by following these steps:

  1. Select the reference that you have the full-text file for.
  2. On the right of the screen, click the 'paper clip/attachment' symbol and locate the file on your PC.
