How do I retrieve an EndNote Library from my document?
If you can't fix or find your existing Library you can try and build a new library from the references in your Word document.
You can import the document's Traveling Library into your own EndNote.
There are two ways in which this can be done:
- Open the document in Word.
- In Word, on the EndNote tab, select Export to EndNote > Export Travelling Library.
- EndNote recommends choosing a new EndNote Library as the destination for the references, so that they can be reviewed before being added to your existing libraries.
Alternatively:
- Open the Word document and an EndNote Library.
- In EndNote, go to 'Tools' > 'Cite While You Write CWYW' > 'Import Travelling Library'.
- Note that when you use the Export/Import Travelling Library commands, the exported references are renumbered and do not retain their original reference numbers.
