The Library can supply access to RNIB Bookshare for students registered with the University’s Disability Advisory Support Service (DASS), whereby those with print disabilities can get alternative copies of texts themselves if they are recommended alternative formats by DASS.
Please note that this is available to students registered with DASS who have been recommended alternative formats in their support plan, if you think this would be helpful for you and you have not been recommended it, please contact your Disability Adviser.
RNIB Bookshare is run by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities and the largest community of blind and partially sighted people.
They support learners with print disabilities to access the curriculum. It enables learners who cannot read standard print, including those with dyslexia or who are blind or partially sighted, to read the same books, at the same time as their peers, creating an inclusive environment in education.
For further information you can speak to staff live on Library Chat or you can find more information about the support available to students on the Library Support and Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS) pages:
