If you are using a managed device, referring to a device that is provided by your employer or NHS Trust which may have restrictions on which browsers can be used and what can be downloaded, you may be limited in which library resources you can access.
There may be limited access to certain resources and this information can help to advise external IT departments why some device alterations may be needed to make resources fully accessible.
If you cannot access a resource after selecting the ‘Institutional access’ option or accessing it via Library Search, your browser may not be saving the cookies needed to prove that you are accessing the resource as a University of Manchester user. If you have access to a second device (e.g. a phone, a non-managed computer) you can test if this is the case by attempting to access the resource on the second device.
If you can access it on a second device, please contact your employer’s IT department and ask them to check if the managed device is saving cookies.
