What access to the Library do I have if I join the SCONUL access scheme through my own insitution?


Staff, research postgraduates, full time taught postgraduates, part-time, distance learning, and placement students at institutions in the SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries) Access scheme may apply to use The University of Manchester Library and borrow books. Undergraduates will have reference only access.

You can apply for access via the SCONUL scheme on the SCONUL website.

 

All staff and students within the SCONUL Access scheme can access the Main Library only. 

 

SCONUL Access  is available by bands of use.

In order to access The University of Manchester Library through the SCONUL Access Scheme, you will need to show your SCONUL Access approval email.

Please visit Library Help for further assistance if you cannot visit the library in person to apply for membership.

SCONUL users who are entitled to borrow books, can loan four books for the academic year (High Demand books are excluded).

You cannot use the Document Supply service but do have access to some electronic resources.
