I’m an alumni member of the University of Manchester. Can I access e-resources from the Library?
Yes, alumni have on-site access to a number of electronic resource services and remote access to a limited number of services through the online alumni service Your Manchester.
In order to access the resources available to you on-site you must apply for Library membership either in person at the Main Library Customer Service Desk, or by completing our Application Form and sending it to us via Library Help.
You must have a UK address and be based in the UK to apply.
If you graduated before 1996 you will need to provide either:
- A copy of your degree certificate
- Your Alumni Association card
- A form from the Alumni office
You can obtain a form from the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, room 1.033 in the John Owens building.
Graduates of affiliated courses should bring their degree certificate or old student ID.
Erasmus students are entitled to graduate membership only if they have completed 12 months or more with The University of Manchester.
Your graduate card will allow you to borrow up to 15 books and will also grant you use of our PCs in the Main Library, which can be used during the Customer Service team's working hours. These PCs can only be used for access to our electronic resources - consult the full list of those available to you.
For further information, please contact us via Library Help.
Alliance Manchester Business School alumni have access to an additional resource, Business Source Alumni Edition, containing business magazines, top management journals, trade publications and more.
For any other questions about access to the Library’s electronic resources, please email the Electronic Resources Helpdesk.
