BMJ (no agreement in place - please read)

Answer

Our Open Access agreement with BMJ came to an end on December 31st 2024. Authors can continue to publish in BMJ journals as normal, but the way in which Open Access is achieved may be different.

Subscription

Authors publishing in BMJ's subscription journals should not choose to publish Open Access. The Library cannot provide funding for Open Access in these journals. On acceptance, authors should deposit the author accepted manuscript (AAM) via the Open Access Gateway. A member of the team will ensure that this version of the paper is made Open Access via the Research Explorer.

Fully Open Access

BMJ publishes a number of fully Open Access journals - journals that only publish Open Access content (e.g. BMJ Open). Authors can request funding to pay article processing charges (APCs) in these journals via our Open Access enquiry form.
