How do I use InCites?

When you log in to InCites, you’ll see several three main features displayed:

  • ‘Analyze’ - 'Report' - 'Organize'

'Analyze'
allows you to analyse various entities:

  • People: Individual researchers or groups of researchers
  • Institutions: Universities or research organizations
  • Countries: National research outputs and impacts
  • Research Areas: Defined using subject categories or custom topic searches

'Analyze' is also where you can access a range of bibliometric indicators, including:

  • Normalized Citation Impact (NCI): Measures the citation impact of an entity relative to global benchmarks
  • Percent of publications in top citation percentiles: Tracks high-impact publications in top 1%, 5%, or 10% by citations
  • Collaboration metrics: Shows the extent of domestic, international, and industry-academic collaborations
  • Open Access metrics: Tracks the proportion of publications available in open-access formats

You can also use the Analyze tab to explore trends, benchmark performance, and track developments in specific research areas.

'Report'

InCites allows you to create reports summarising your analyses. Reports can be customised with visualizations and exported in various formats for sharing or inclusion in presentations and documents.

'Organize'

Incites allows you to save, organise and revisit previous analyses by saving to your personal profile.
