How do I access the catalogues of other libraries?

For a nationwide search to access material and resources you can use Library Hub Discovery, which holds the catalogues of 149 UK and Irish academic, national & specialist Libraries.

Manchester is home to a range of Public Libraries across the borough, each Library can vary in it's membership requirements so it is best to check these before making any journey.

The University of Manchester Library is part of the SCONUL scheme, in which users can access the resources of other participating institutions who are also part of the scheme. The type of access offered can differ depending on your status and this will be determined when you add your details on the SCONUL Access page.

If the Library does not already hold a resource that you wish to use, you can put a request in through our 'Order a Book' and 'Order a Article' scheme. The Library will send you a notification email, once your material has been sourced and is ready for you to access.
