What is Diamond Open Access?

Answer

Diamond Open Access (OA) refers to academic journals or scholarly publications which provide immediate access to the final published version of an article without the payment of an Article Processing Charge (APC).

Diamond OA journals are increasingly becoming an important part of the scholarly publication environment, with many highly regarded OA publications beginning to use this model, as evidenced by a recent in-depth cOAlition S study.

How can I find Diamond Open Access publications?

A good source for authors to identify reputable Diamond OA publications is the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), which details over 13,000 fully OA journals which do not require the payment of an APC.
